DEVOTION: "Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ ;"( 1 Peter 1:13)

"Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ ;"( 1 Peter 1:13)

"Journeys End". If you are reading this, that means your journey is not over. I'm very aware that some of you probably wish it was time for the Father to have the trumpet sounded and Jesus to meet us in the clouds. If you have been in a battle of some kind, you’re tired and weary, praying for a breakthrough. Peter encourages us to gird up the loins of our minds and be sober. In other words, think right and biblical, let wisdom rule in your heart. He tells us to "HOPE" till the end! The word hope in this passage means to trust or expect God to fulfill every promise he has for you. Peter's reference to the "end", means the till Jesus catches us away. If you are still here, then our orders are to trust until we see Him face to face in the air. We are not at our journeys end as of yet so we must press on till the battle is over. There will not be a retreat sounded, the Bible doesn't have any such orders!! You may choose to stray from the path of righteousness and try to justify your behavior but that's on you, it won't work out very well. Some have tried to justify their fleshly behavior by lame excuses but it has never worked and it will not work today. Peter failed to be all that he was supposed to be at one point in his life but he wept bitterly over his sin, you will do the same. "And Peter remembered the words of Jesus, which said unto him, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly." (Matthew 26:75)  After the weeping, Peter wiped the tears from his eyes, realized he wasn't at "Journeys End", God used him in amazing way on the Day of Pentecost.  Therefore whatever you have done that has caused you to weep doesn't have to be your end but can turn into a new beginning, if handled with integrity. It's not over, so get up, "hope till the end" and let's continue the faith walk till "Journeys End".
