DEVOTION: Revelation 22:8

  "And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.  Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God."(Revelation 22:8)

"Angels in the Book of  Revelation". The word "Angel" or "Angels" is found 76 times in this fascinating book. God uses the Angelic force of Heaven that He created to announce, enforce and bring to pass all of the amazing things in this time frame. The Angels were so awesome and powerful that John fell down to worship at one's feet but the Angel said "no" and referred to John as his fellow servant.  We are saved, forgiven and under the authority of God so we are their fellow servants!!! You talk about super heroes, these guys invented the concept!!!  He would not allow John to worship him because we only worship God and are to worship no one besides God Himself!! If you will read the entire book of Revelation and highlight every verse that has Angel in it, your last book in the Bible will be highlighted. We find Angels flying through the heavens making declarations, one declaring the Gospel of the Kingdom, blowing trumpets that release the wrath of God,  pouring out vials on the earth!!   "And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire:"(Revelation 10:1) These Angels are powerful, beyond our comprehension and our fellow servants to do good and stop evil in our lives. As we continue reading we find one Angel "standing on the sea and the earth", may I say, large and in charge!!    "And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory."(Revelation 18:1)  This Angel is so powerful, his glory lights the entire earth!!  The circumference of the earth at the equator is 24,901.55 miles (40,075.16 kilometers). But, if you measure the earth through the poles the circumference is a bit shorter - 24,859.82 miles (40,008 km). The earth is a tad wider than it is tall, giving it a slight bulge at the equator. This shape is known as an ellipsoid or more properly, geoid (earth-like). (About.com)   This is a big place to be lighting up all by your lonesome, we have some pretty awesome fellow servants watching over us 24/7.  I'm really excited over the fact that I have these created beings of God taking care of me, my family and all my stuff. It's just plain cool!!

VIDEO: Angels at the Crossroads

DEVOTION: "For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways."(Psalm 91:11)

"For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways."(Psalm 91:11)

"He shall Give" Wow!! Psalm 91 is one of the anchor chapters in the Boatner family, especially this verse about Angels!! They have been given "charge" over us to keep us. The word "charge" in the Hebrew means, to "enjoin" -

to direct or impose by authoritative order. In other words, "they got this", this being "us". By the direct command of God, they have us under watch care 24/7!! It's not possible for us to even grasp how many times per day they protect us from harm, danger and any evil that tries to come against us. Many times in Israel's history they were about to be over run by the enemy but God overpowered the enemy by His Angels. "For I will defend this city, to save it, for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake. And it came to pass that night, that the Angel of the LORD went out, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians an hundred fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses."(2 Kings 19:34-35)
I'm glad I'm in the Lord's army and not His opponent, God doesn't have a worth adversary. "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty."(Psalm 91:1) The word "Almighty" here describes our God, He is Almighty, no foe can withstand a his mighty power. It may look bleak at times in your life, it may even look impossible, overwhelming and beyond your comprehension how God will get you past the mountain in your path. Have no fear, just trust that God has His Angelic host there for you to get you to your expected end. "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."(Jeremiah 29:11). God uses Angels as agents of change and protectors of the righteous path. "But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?"(Hebrews 1:13-14). If you can grasp the vast power of understanding that God has Angels that "minister" to us. The word minister means a "personal aide that offers service", servants for the heirs of salvation!!! We are heirs of salvation with servants from heaven to serve us as we serve Jesus Christ!!

DEVOTION: Exodus 23:20

"Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared."(Exodus 23:20)

"Angels" The Angels of God are leading the way to the Promise Land, the land flowing with milk and honey!! They are out front clearing the path for us to walk in until we find the place God has for us. While we are traveling the path God has planned, His Angelic Host are keeping,  guarding and protecting us. Whatever God has for you to do, He has His Angels protecting you until it is done. They are the servants of the Most High God that are watching over us every second of our lives.   "For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways."(Psalm 91:11). The Angels of God are in the process of bringing us to a "prepared place".  I am empowered by the knowledge of knowing that supernatural beings created by God are enabling me to become everything God desires for me.  The Bible is very clear that we have a purpose on this planet but we have an enemy trying to stop us from completing that task. In general, we are to make a difference in the lives of others but in specific we are individuals that accomplish this goal in many diverse ways. The Holy Spirit uses our individual personalities to fulfill the plans of God  and we need supernatural assistance to get the job done. We are not supposed to try and accomplish these callings from God in our natural strength hence the assistance of Angels.  The word "place" in Exodus 23:20 refers to a standing or a condition and the word "prepared" speaks of being set up or prosperous. If you combine the Hebrew definitions of these two words, you will find that the Angels are carrying us to a prosperous standing. The reason we are blessed is so we can be a blessing or enable ministries to establish the covenant of God in the earth.   "But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he swear unto thy fathers, as it is this day."(Deuteronomy 8:18). Just keep pushing forward, the supernatural forces of Almighty God will ensure that we win and that we change the world!!

DEVOTION: “Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence, As when the melting fire burneth, the fire causeth the waters to boil, to make thy name known to thine adversaries, that the nations may tremble at thy presence! “(Isaiah 64:1-2)

“To make Thy Name Known” The Prophet Isaiah cries out to God that He would rip open the heavens and come down!! Isaiah knows that the Presence of God is very powerful. He knows that it will melt the mountains therefore he asks God to come down in Presence to let our adversaries know that God can deal with them at any time He so desires!!! Isaiah knows that the Presence of Almighty God will not only melt mountains but make all the nations tremble. Please notice the phrase, “to make Thy Name known.” Jehovah is His Name and the mention of it will manifest the Almighty’s Presence. As I have said before, God didn’t write the Bible to Himself but to us, so we would know how to participate in His purpose for us. Please take note that we have the Name of God upon us, so it’s OUR purpose to “make His Name known “and when His Name is seen in you, the mountains, nations and all adversaries will start to tremble and melt. “Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.”(Revelation 3:12). The reason a name is so powerful is because it’s our identity and our heritage. When people wish to single you out in a crowd, they call your name and you respond, if you are meeting someone new, you will introduce yourself by using your first and last name. Your first name identifies you personally and your last name reflects your entire family. We have the Name of God upon us and we should “make it known” because it will change the nations!!! “But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.”(Psalm 73:28). We need to “make His Name known” in every way possible without being obnoxious and driving people away from God. We are created in God’s image, unique and diverse in the way we express our faith in God. Please make Him known today!!

“We are in a War”. The war that we American Christians are in is not exactly like you think.  Some think we are fighting against abortion,  homosexuality, pornography, drugs, alcohol, hatred agendas against the American philosophy of Life. Please don’t misunderstand me, we do need to speak out against such things, we need legislation to regulate and in some cases completely abolish such things as I have listed.  The real war is much deeper than that, it’s a spiritual war against a spirit that cause these things to manifest. The things I listed are just the manifestation  of the spirit of satan, the spirit of death, the spirit of blind politicians in America with their heads buried in the sand!!!    ”The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”(John 10:10)  Unfortunately, so many people are wasting their energy fighting the wrong thing because they fight what they see with their natural eyes rather than the root of the problem, which is spiritual not natural.  Our true battle is in the dark world where few dare to tread, I dare say most American Church members don’t even know what I’m referring to when I speak of the spiritual darkness. The Bible always points at the people of God when there is a need for change not the people on the “bad sin” list.    ”If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray,  and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”(2 Chronicles 7:14). This classic verse starts with -“If My People”, not if the “bad people”, as we seem to think.  We are in a spiritual war against the spirit of darkness but we have become so religious in America that we think that sitting on a church pew on Sunday makes us spiritual warriors.  Some have made the horrific mistake of thinking that if you win an election and have a home in Washington,  DC that you are an American Leader, “NOT”!!!   This  is not a new problem but typical human religious political nature that Jesus faced in His day.   “Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.”(Matthew 23:24-26). We are in a battle for the future of our country, churches and children so please start fighting the dark spirit that controls the the things we see with our natural eye.  We have the power, IN JESUS NAME, to make a difference!!  There is nothing funny about our present national situation nor any fun in our future if we don’t stand up for what is good and right at this moment in history.
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”(Ephesians 6:12). We always win in the power of Jesus!!

DEVOTION: “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.”(Revelation 1:8)

“The Omega”. God finishes what He starts!!  If God has begun a work in your life, He will follow through with it till the job is done. God has a purpose for your life, a plan for your place in time, a path for you to travel and He will give you the strength to fulfill every dream that involves your destiny.     “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.”(Psalm 37:23) The word “ordered” means to be appointed, stablished or set up for you.   “For whom he did foreknow,  he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.  Moreover whom he did predestinate,  them he also called:  and whom he called,  them he also justified:  and whom he justified,  them he also glorified. “(Romans 8:29-30)   God, through the person of the Holy Spirit has called us according to His purpose. You have a destiny that was designed by your Heavenly Father specifically for you!!  Eternity is forever but God placed a thing called Time in our laps, in Time we fulfill His will for our lives. There are 7007 years of human time in the Bible, generally speaking,  2000 years from Adam to Abraham, 2000 years from Abraham to Christ, 2000 years from Christ first coming until the coming of Christ in the clouds to call His church away. After the catching away of the blood washed church there is a 7 year tribulation period and then the final 1000 year reign of Christ. You were born in time to fulfill the eternal purpose of God Himself!!  He is the Omega God, the first and the last, the finisher of our faith. You are not here by an accident, you are special in God’s eyes and He is calling you today. Stop what you are doing, simply bow your head for a moment and say, “Here I am, Father, Let me know my purpose”. You may know what God has called you to do but the doors just aren’t opening for you, just ask Him to connect the dots in your life.    ”Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden,  to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut;   I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight:  I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:”(Isaiah 45:1-2)  God can make things happen for you that is beyond your imagination!!

1. Matthew 24:6

   And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.”(Matthew 24:6)
   
   “The end is not yet”  We still have a ways to go before the earth is renovated by fire and made new. Yes the Lord is going to;  ”But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat,  the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.”(11 Peter 3:10). The earth was once baptized in water and it will be baptized in fire at the end of the 1000 year reign of Christ.    ,And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.”(Revelation 21:1). The wars and shaking of the world system will continue until Christ catches His born again followers away, then the 7 year tribulation of hell on earth, like the world has never seen till this day will automatically begin.  This 7 years is for the salvation of Israel and the aligning the nations of the world for Armageddon at the end of the 7 year tribulation period. All the nations of the world are coming to Jerusalem to try and destroy it but little do they know that they will meet, The LORD of LORDS and KINGS of KNGS!!  We will be with Jesus at the Battle of Armageddon in all of His Glory. During the 7 year tribulation, we the church will be at “The judgement seat of Christ” being evaluated for our service in His kingdom while on earth and then we attend the “Marriage Supper of the Lamb”. The “Judgement Seat of Christ is for the Believer and the “Great White Throne Judgement is for the Unbeliever”, which occurs at the end of the 1000 year reign of Christ on earth.  The bible  is very accurate as to world events; The Nations of the world are against Israel.   “Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.  And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces,  though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.”(Zechariah 12:2-3)
   Jesus will come for His Church very soon!  I strongly suggest that you get saved or you will personally experience, what you are seeing on the news during the tribulation but a 1000 times worse, then die and go to hell for eternity!!! Jesus is your only option!!!

2. Romans 13:7

    ”Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour;”(Romans 13:7)
   
   “HONOUR”. Today is September 11th, the 11th anniversary of one of the most tragic days in American history!!  Today 11 years ago we were attacked by terriost within our own borders, it was a dark day for the United States of America. I cannot imagine how someone can hate another person so much that they are willing to give their life to needlessly murder someone they have never even seen or known!! The shock and fear that flooded our nation that day was unprecedented in my lifetime.  The pain and loss experienced by the loved ones of those that lost their lives that day is an ongoing memory, a loss that will never be filled.  Today we remember our fellow Americans and we HONOR them as our Hero’s.  To those of you that lost loved ones that day, we pray for you and we are very grieved that you lost your fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, husbands, wives and other family members in such a horrific manner.  We are “One Nation Under God” and “Blessed to a Thousand Generations”.   “Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;”(Deuteronomy 7:9).  We, the American People will not be terrorized by hatred or fear tactics but we will stand shoulder to shoulder as we have always done. In the time of need we rise to the occasion of the moment and regardless of the hopelessness that is being spread by some within our government, we will always be GREAT!! We were founded upon a set of Godly principals that were taken from the Bible,  so we will prevail, we always do. We HONOR all of our men and women that have given their lives to make this country what it is today, we weep with your families and we pray that God will put a hedge of protection around our country. MAY GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

3. Matthew 21:31-32

   “Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.  For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.”(Matthew 21:31-32)
   
   “Harlots go into the Kingdom of God before you”  WOW- When we become self righteous, we have become something Jesus detest above all things!! When someone thinks they are superior in nature to another person they are a Pharisee. A Pharisee is someone that has created a religious system of their own, in their own mind, to make themselves feel good about themselves to the point of illusion. A deception that Jesus spoke out against as He taught about entering the Kingdom of God. Some people are so busy judging others to see their need of a Savior!!
   
      ”For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.”(Matthew 5:20)

4. Matthew 25:28-29

   “Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.  For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.”(Matthew 25:28-29)
   
   “taken away”   This can mean that the talent is completely removed or can mean that you are now in a position that you just can’t use what God gifted you with, depends on the talent!! I’ve seen it work both ways in the lives of the “Talented and Gifted” that don’t use or appreciate what God has blessed them with for His glory. Unfortunately some people use their gifts to obtain self gratitude because of “entitlement mentality”, thinking they are special because they are gifted at certain things. We must realize that the Gift is actually God’s not ours and is to be treasured at all times. One of the main reasons “Talented and Gifted” people fall by the wayside is because they lack the commitment required to use their gift for God and not themselves!!
   
   “Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.”(1 Corinthians 4:2). We must be faithful at all times to protect the gift and the gifted from shame.

5. Revelation 1:9-10

    ”I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.  I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,”(Revelation 1:9-10)
   
   When things transpire that cause us to be alone, don’t assume it’s a trial, but realize it could be God wants to spend some alone time with you. All great men in the Bible spent time alone with God. The list of men in the bible includes Moses, David, Elijah, Daniel, Jesus, Paul and John the beloved. They all had times alone with God, to be great, you must realize that it is God that makes you great. Moses was surrounded by two million people but it was God that made him great. When John wrote the Book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ, he was alone but God made him great, don’t fight it, just open your heart and receive what the Sprit is saying to you…..
   
      ”And Moses alone shall come near the LORD:”(Exodus 24:2a). Moses and God made a great team and so will you and God!!!
        ”Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all. Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great,  and to give strength unto all.  Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.”(1 Chronicles 29:11-13). The purpose of being alone is that we realize that our greatness comes from God, not us, our friends or political connections!!
   It is what it is, so roll with it…..God is waiting for you to stop talking to everyone else around you and talk to Him….He has the answers.

6. Revelation 19:10

    ”And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”(Revelation 19:10)
   
   “The Spirit of Prophesy”  In this chapter, the tribulation is winding down, the marriage supper of the Lamb is coming to a close and the Bride of Christ is about to invade earth at the Battle of Armageddon with the King of Kings!!
   By this time, “The Journey to Jerusalem is complete”, all the nations of the world are in Israel. They have been driven by greed and hatred for centuries to destroy the Jews but much to their surprise they are going to meet The Lord of Lords, Jesus Christ!!!    ”And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.”(Revelation 19:19).  In this passage we get to see the raw uncut power of the Word of God, The Sword, The Spirit of Prophesy!!
   What weapon did Jesus use to defeat satan with in Matthew 4, the Word of God. What does Paul call the word in Ephesians 6, a sword and what comes out of the mouth of Jesus at the War of all Wars;   “And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the wine press of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.”(Revelation 19:15). The testimony of Jesus IS the Spirit of Prophesy!! Do you have a testimony (report or witness) of hope in Jesus? Speak it forth, let it come out of your mouth with faith, it will devour your enemies and write your future,  because  God has plans for you.   “We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written,  I believed,  and therefore have I spoken;  we also believe,  and therefore speak;”(11 Corinthians 4:13)
   If you have hope in your heart that is a witness to the Power of Jesus, say it, speak it, declare it forth and it will go before you to prepare the way for you.   “And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:”( Acts 2:18). All of God’s warriors should use the sharp sword of the word to speak into their future the plans that God has for them instead of sitting back and getting their lives shred to pieces. Our witness is the Spirit of Prophesy, in other words, we have a hope within us that says tomorrow is going to better, regardless of our circumstances today!!!
   “and calleth those things which be not as though they were.”(Romans 4:17b)
   Speak the Word today and watch it work in your life tomorrow.

7. Jeremiah 31:16-17

   Unless we die today or Jesus catches His church away, we will have a tomorrow. Our tomorrow will be effected greatly by how we handle today. Today is a gift from God, handle it with care. Today is filled with choices that are actions on our part which will bring about a reaction. God’s word tell us about His desire and plans for us tomorrow.  “Thus saith the LORD; Refrain thy voice from weeping, and thine eyes from tears: for thy work shall be rewarded, saith the LORD; and they shall come again from the land of the enemy.   And there is hope in thine end, saith the LORD, that thy children shall come again to their own border.”(Jeremiah 31:16-17). Jeremiah says that we can go ahead and stop crying about the pain of yesterday because our work will be rewarded!! He also says that our children will come again, so if we are authentic, not only will our tomorrow be good for us but we will change the generation that is coming behind us. Our children are our tomorrow, I think they are worth the investment required, whatever that may be at the time.
