"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened."(Matthew 7:7-8)

"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened."(Matthew 7:7-8)

"Ask". Are you wondering what's going on in your life? Have you ever questioned your Heavenly Father as to what’s going on at your address? Sure you have, maybe not publicly, but you have... Bro Scott, How can you be so sure? You’re breathing, right, then you've questioned. We just don't talk about that kind of non-spiritual stuff out in public. The truth is that every day is not a great day, so why can't we be honest and just talk about it. Let's lay it out on the table and give it a whirl. Have you ever thought about the verse above? Read it slowly, and then just do it. Ask God what's going on, yes you heard me right. "You have not because you ask not" (James 4:2) Just try a conversation with God. I know some of probably think that talking to God is for Preachers and such or something you just pretend to do at church while others are listening. Ask and it shall be given... Shall be given, not maybe, not hope so but shall. Are you hurting, are you struggling with something and you want to know "WHY"? "The path of the righteous is made plain", (Proverbs 15:19) You can trust God, He doesn't lie. Now let me tell you God only speaks "TRUTH", so if you don't want to know, don't ask. Just Sayin... If you are willing to ask then you can continue this journey with us on finding out "Why bad things happen to good people", it could take a while because I have found at least 14 reasons why bad things happen to good people. We have to be willing to face the truth that we are not a perfect human machine. The truth stings a little bit before it sets you free. "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."(John 8:32) We must be willing to deal with our baggage that we picked up along life's journey, because none of us have handled life with care. "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us."(1 John 1:8). It will be a worthy investment of your time to get on this train and get out of the present mess you are in; every day is a new day.

PS. We didn't get in the mess we in overnight so we probably won't get out of it overnight.

"As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come."(Proverbs 26:2)

"As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come."(Proverbs 26:2)

"The curse" Why do things happen? What caused this negative stuff to just seem to come from out of nowhere at me today? Bro Scott, Why are you discussing the negative? Because we don't worry about the good things, we are so thrilled by the blessings to question where they come from; we all know they come from God. "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." (James 1:17) Well, that was easy! The bad will take a little longer to understand. "Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures. Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God."(Proverbs 2:3-5). If you want to know bad enough, He will show you. How, you may ask? "Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou? thou "shalt see" greater things than these."(John 1:50) God will show you whatever you need to know and, or, what you are mature enough to handle. What giant are you facing today? A young preacher asked me the other day, "What is the difference between an attack of Satan and a trial of your faith?"
Are they, one in the same, can we know the difference, can they happen simultaneously? Yes- There is a difference/ you can know/ they can be going on simultaneously! There a list of things that I've found in the Bible that explains why stuff happens. So if we can identify what's happening and why, then we can stop or at least avoid some of this bad stuff. What we do and say today will set up our tomorrow. This is a big subject because we can do everything right today and get surprised tomorrow by something we didn't see coming. Remember, "We walk by faith, not by sight", life is a journey. So don't sit still, keep moving and you'll walk through some things, don't wallow in them. Face them with the Word. Keep moving by Faith, the journey continues tomorrow!!

"Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him."(Job 13:15)

"Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him."(Job 13:15)

"Yet will I trust Him". The verse for today is a heavy statement of Faith spoken by Job during his darkest hour. Job, by his own admission, had limited knowledge of the way God deals with His people. So out of that limited Revelation, Job spoke many things that seem to confuse some people today.
"Lo, these are parts of his ways: but how little a portion is heard of him?"(Job 26:14) Its very obvious that the devil was at work trying to destroy Job but Job and his very super spiritual friends thought God was out to get Job. This verse will let you understand Job's theological view of God's dealings with mankind. "And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD."(Job 1:21) Ofcourse, all of God's word is true but Job over thought the "taketh away part" because if you read more than the first three chapters, you'll find that Job began to re-think some of his thoughts about God. "I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee. Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes."(Job 42:5-6) Yes, this is the same wonderful man you read about in chapter one, you should read the whole book before you draw conclusions on your trials. People are constantly asking me "Why do bad things happen to good people?" Most believe the myth that we've been taught, that we just don't know. The Bible is filled with reasons why things happen, you will need to actually read the Bible to find them. Fear is the reason for Job's trouble. Is your relationship with God, fear based or faith based? "For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me."(Job 3:25)
The high cost of a fear based relationship, fear opens the doors and windows of your life to all sort of things. " ...so the curse causeless shall not come."(Proverbs 26:2b). Solomon says that everything has a reason, we are not just wandering around in some fog with God playing tricks on us. For now, just Trust Him!!!

"My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;" (James 1:2)

"My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;" (James 1:2)
"Count it all joy". Rejoicing in the time of trial, takes Faith, real Faith. The Bible never says it will be easy or fun but needful. "Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:" (1 Peter 1:6). Trials are for seasons. Seasons change. Learn to change with them. As a Christian, we must grow in Grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ. If maturity is to be achieved, then change is absolutely a must in our lives. If we never have a hardship, we will never change because we think it is easier to do the same routine every day of our lives. Some people are capable of the same old round and round in the wilderness, like Moses’ church. They preferred the security of the bondage in Egypt over the freedom of the new land across the Jordan River. With freedom comes responsibility, accountability and commitment. Now on the other hand, bondage is easy for some because someone else is responsible for your relationship with God. As long as you do as told by the powers that be, you'll be accepted, but if trials come into your life that cause you to question the rules of your religion, you better learn to rejoice in the Lord. If you question the system, you will be very lonely if they are all you've got. It will require a relationship with Jesus, not religious rules, to get you through some things. The point of the verse today is for us to grow up and seek the Wisdom of God. "Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him."(James 1:3-5). At some point in the journey, you must learn to trust God instead of man-made religion, which is made of nothing more than hollow experiences that don’t change your life. We rejoice in the trials because we know that they are producing maturity and a new day in our lives. At this moment in my personal life and ministry, we are going through some very serious trials of our faith. The world is changing; a new day is approaching for the people of God. Heavenly Father, as we anticipate the outpouring of your Spirit we need your wisdom for the next step in our lives.

VIDEO: The Church

"The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him."(Proverbs 20:7)

"The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him."(Proverbs 20:7)

"His Children". If you are a parent that really loves your children, then you want them blessed, now and forever. This verse tells us in one sentence what it takes a lifetime to accomplish. Bro. Scott, did you say a lifetime? Yes, a lifetime, just because your children are grown doesn't mean they don't need you. Don't bail out on them before the journeys end, one day you will need them. If you teach them that this is a lifetime journey about a group of people called "Family", not just about themselves, then they will understand the sacrifices required to raise a family. If we live to ourselves, we die alone. The word integrity in the verse for today tells us the type life we have to live and impart to our children. "Integrity" = completeness; figuratively prosperity; usually (morally) innocence:--full, integrity, perfect (-ion), simplicity, upright (-ly, -ness), at a venture. These are the meanings found in a Hebrew dictionary.
It's a big word to live up to, but with God's help we can be what we need to be, for our children. We have the promise in the Word that the blessings don't have to die when we die but continue for a thousand generations. "Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;"(Deuteronomy 7:9). I want to start something in my generation that never stops. We must put something in our children's hearts that will carry them through life, safe and sound. Sometimes we are more concerned about what we put in their hands than in their hearts. We need to provide for our children as God blesses us to do so but we must remember that out of their hearts come the issues of life. Our children need to know that life is about what's inside them, because the stuff on the outside can change in an instant.

"And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing."(1 Thessalonians 4:11-12)

"And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing."(1 Thessalonians 4:11-12)

"work with your hands". The work ethic is something that is very important for you to practice and pass on to your children. I am aware that there are a lot of hard working people in our country that have helped make it great. But I'm also aware that there is a certain group of people that have figured out how to mis-use the system and get the Government to pay them for not working when they are actually able to do so. When you take from those that work (taxes) and give to those that won't work, when they are able to work; Houston, We have a problem! As a matter of fact, Apostle Paul said if you don't work, you don't eat. "For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat."(2 Thessalonians 3:10). God will bless you if you get a job and make your money by working with your hands. "Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase."(Proverbs 13:11)
If you goof off at work on your boss's time then you are stealing his money. You may say, Bro Scott, he doesn't pay me what I'm worth, well get you a job that pays you what you are worth but until then, quit stealing money from your present place of employment. If they are good enough to give you a job then be good enough to give them an honest day's work. If you are at a low paying job then be faithful and I promise that God will honor you by giving you a better job. My work philosophy has always been that some money was better than no money. Have you ever thought that your skill sets may not be as valuable as you think? Has it ever occurred to you that your attitude of " I'm invaluable" keeps you from finding the job that suits you. I know a lot of you think that all business owners are rich and can afford to pay you double wages. That may be true in some cases, but I promise you that all business owners are not rich, some are barely keeping their doors open. In order to get this country back on track we must start with the foundational mentality of get a job, go to work faithfully, tithe your payday and Trust God to Bless your efforts. As an American Citizen, I plead with you to do whatever job you have with a good attitude and we will see God start to turn our country around. The backbone of any economy is it's work force, join the team today.

Amos 4:7 And also I have withholden the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest: and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece whereupon it rained not withered.

Amos 4:7 And also I have withholden the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest: and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece whereupon it rained not withered.

"It's raining at my house". Amos the Prophet was describing how God can bless those that trust Him in spite of difficult times. This truth is found throughout the bible in many places. In the book of Exodus we find God's people with light in their houses and darkness in the world system. As always the knowledge of the world system is as darkness and they are blind to any solutions that bring peace and true prosperity. "The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.” (Proverbs 4:19) Their wells are dry and they are clueless as to why!! In Psalm 91 we are told that 11,000 may fall near you but it will not harm you if you are in covenant with God. The blind leaders of the blind always try to disguise their very public inability to lead our country by always blaming someone else. Seriously, when is someone in this country going to take responsibility for how dry our nation’s wells are is due to the absolute failure of leadership to be responsible. (I do not watch the news and I haven't in several years so I am speaking from my Spirit about our nation. So I assure you that this devotion is not written in response to some news broadcast nor directed at any one individual. If the shoe fits wear it.) It is my prayer that God will raise up an "Amos Generation" that will just call it what it is, "Your wells are dry because you miss-used the water and did not appreciate how nice it was to have a surplus of water in the "Well". The Bible is very clear that God's people are always the ones with the answers. Unfortunately the people that lead this country surround themselves with people that have agendas rather than God given vision; for the most part none of which have never heard from God and wouldn't know it if God did say something to them because they wouldn't recognize His voice. I believe God to take care of me and mine in spite of the actions of others. Bro Scott, What do you base your hope on in this particular situation? With all the wells going dry, how do you expect rain from heaven to keep your wells full? "And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not."(Isaiah 58:11)
No matter what happens God will take care of His own!!

‎"Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh."(Proverbs 3:25

‎"Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh."(Proverbs 3:25)

"Sudden Fear" The words "sudden fear" have the idea of fast and without warning. Sometimes things come at us so fast we don't have time to fully comprehend all that's going on, but our emotional man can respond instantaneously. Today, my wife, Kari and I were blessed with our third grandson, John Scott Boatner!! Let me go back almost 30 years and connect the dots of life so I can show you how wonderful today is and how awesome our God is. In August our oldest son, Matthew, will be 30 and our youngest son Micah, will be 25. My wife was in the hospitial for 13 days with Matthew and 10 days with Micah, very traumatizing, but we have two wonderful sons. Our first grandson, William, will be 4 in July and our second grandson, Joseph, will be one in September. Both of our grandsons had surgery, William on his thumbs and Joseph had a knot removed that had us very concerned for several weeks. We were told that it might be brain fluid outside the skull and that's enough said!!! So here we are today at the hospitial awaiting John Scott Boatner's arrival and we are counting centimeter's with all of our friends and family. I get a text from my son, Matthew, that's he should be born any moment. The excitement and anticipation is so thick you can cut it with a knife!! Then all of a sudden, THINGS CHANGE, in an instant we go from rejoicing to praying. John Scott got something in his airway and is having trouble breathing and the respiratory team goes into action to get him breathing properly. It only lasted 11 minutes but it seemed like an eternity. But thank God for His grace, it didn't take 11 seconds and I was talking to my Heavenly Father. I mentioned His Son's name, Jesus and there He was with peace that passes understanding. "Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am."(Isaiah 58:9)
As our emotions are beginning to subside my heart goes out to all the people that my wife and I minister to, that will face a "sudden fear" today or in the near future. Believe this, God is always right there with you, He will never leave you nor forsake you. I'm so Blessed to know that the Holy Spirit is our Comforter and that Jesus Christ is King of Kings!!! No matter what you are facing, He is always there. Today is a good day, John Scott, we welcome you to the family.

"Then answered Amos, and said to Amaziah, I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet's son; but I was an herdman, and a gatherer of sycomore fruit: And the LORD took me as I followed the flock, and the LORD said unto me, Go, prophesy unto my people Israel."(Amos 7:14-15)

"No One Special" Amos was a herdman picking fruit, minding his own business, when God called his name. What a day that must have been? Has God talked to you lately? Many times in the bible we read the phrase " To Him that hath ears, let Him hear", are your Spiritual ears poised to hear God's voice when He speaks to you? He's not looking for wonderful people to call for His service in the Last Days Outpouring of His Spirit, just willing people. Are you willing, in the day of His Power? Amos listened, saw and spoke the message that God put in his heart for the people, a people that were so blessed, they were blind. (Revalation chapters 2&3) I've noticed a trend in some of the church community over the years of my ministry that kind of goes like this; When some people are down and out they come to church every service, praying, crying and all up in love with Jesus! But just as soon as the church family prays the stress mess off their backs, they start to come around less. After a while they don't come at all, they just drift off to sleep in the arms of their comfort zone. Hello comfort zone, there will be another stress mess that you will need your God and your church family to bail you out of, write it down, it will happen. "Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel."(Amos 4:12)
If you live on this earth long enough, you will require, the Mercy of God to sustain your life. The bible is very clear about the source of all our blessings, please don't forget. You may say, Preacher, I'm not special like Amos so I have trouble staying on fire and faithful to the task God has for me. Amos was just like you and me, nothing special, but the presence of God in his life made him who he was, it defined him. What defines who you are, who's writing your story? Are you and God controlling your life or is someone or something controlling it that doesn't have your best interest at heart? It's time we, like Amos, get real about the fact that we are not celebrities but servants of the Most High God. He makes us who we are, He makes what we do work and function to the fulfillment of His purpose in our life. There are no big I's and little You's, just humble farmers serving an awesome God.

"For thus saith the LORD unto the house of Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live:"( Amos 5:4)

"For thus saith the LORD unto the house of Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live:"( Amos 5:4)

"Seek Me". As I walked into my pulpit yesterday morning, I was heavily burdened about the condition of my country, America. The title of my sermon was "America is in trouble with God". My approach to this message was not one of hopelessness and detailed with all of our sins. I did not preach a sermon that dealt with our obvious violations of God's Covenants of Life, Marriage, etc.... Those are the sins of our hands that we are all very aware of and that get a lot of attention in pulpits across America every Sunday. With the help of the Holy Spirit and the Prophet Amos, I tried to go deeper into our hearts to get to the root of our problem. In 2 Chronchiles 7:14 Solomon said "If my people", the Apostle Peter said that "judgement must begin at the house of God". The backdrop of the book of Amos is a time of prosperity and blessing. Unfortunately they were so blessed they forgot who had blessed them, imagine that!! Just a few short years ago we were in an unprecedented time of blessing but now we are all faced with unprecedented fears that seem to be endless. Have we found ourselves in the same situation that God's People were in during Amos' ministry? As it was then, so it is today, "Seek Me and Live"! If we continue to put our trust in man then we will continue to be disappointed. "We the People", are constantly pointing fingers at someone else when God has obviously laid it at the door of the Church. Amos wasn't anyone special just a herdsman of sheep and a farmer but very anointed of God. Our problem in the American Church is very similar to the problem Amos was facing. We are so busy enjoying our religious drama and side shows that we've taken God's Voice for granted. "Behold, I am pressed under you, as a cart is pressed that is full of sheaves."(Amos 2:13) Amos said that their service to God had become a burden to Him instead of a blessing of service and worship. The next time you go to church, "go to church", get serious with God about our future, our children and country. As a Prophet of God, I beg you to rise up and let's get our country back on track. "If My People"

"Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. "(Psalm 122:6)

"Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. "(Psalm 122:6)

"Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem". For many years some have called Jerusalem the center of the world. The Bible is filled with stories of the great city of Jerusalem. King Saul, King David and King Solomon ruled their vast empires from this great city of power. Today, nations are still fighting over rights to it, even though it was promised to Abraham and his children. One day Jesus will return to that great city and rule for a thousand years on the throne of David. It's a bloody city, many wars have taken place there. It has been over thrown by several kings and kingdoms. The list of wars that have taken place over this city are almost endless. It is in the news every day in some fashion about some issue over who's in control or who's going to get the land. Well, the children of Abraham will get the land, that's very clear in the Bible. I wouldn't want to be on the wrong side of this issue because God's Chosen People, Israel will get everything God has promised them. The Bible is so sure of this it promises prosperity to those that pray for the peace of Jerusalem and that love the City. So if you are not prospering it may be because you are not praying for the peace of Jerusalem and you don't love Jerusalem. So today, please join me in praying for the peace of Jerusalem. As God's word predicted years ago, every eye is on Jerusalem. "And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it."(Zechariah 12:3)
This prophetic verse promises that "all people" will be involved in this and those that are against it will be cut to pieces but those that pray for peace and love the city will prosper!! I love God, His People, His Plans for the future so I am Blessed and Protected by The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob!!! We live in the greatest days ever known to man, I'm glad I'm part of the plan.

"For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us."(11 Corinthians 1:20)

"For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us."(11 Corinthians 1:20)

"All the Promises". All of God's Promises are yes and amen!! What do you need today? What are your life goals? Whatever they are and wherever you are trying to get in life, you can't get there without the foundation of God's Promises. The path of life is paved with the Promises of God. "Blessed be the LORD, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant."(1 Kings 8:56). Abraham's whole life was built on a Promise from God. The Promises of God are the solid rock upon which we stand, all other ground is sinking sand. If we build our hopes and dreams on something other than the Promise of God it will not bring fulfillment and peace into our lives. Abraham just kept hanging onto the Promises that God had spoken to him until they came to pass.
"He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform."(Romans 4:20-21).
He did not stagger but pursued the Promise, he did not allow unbelief to rule in his heart but the Promise of God. Although there were days in Abrahams life that didn't go as good as he would have wished but he held on to the Promise. What's going on in your life that is making you question the Promises of God?
Stop listening to the voice of doubt, the voice of fear, the voice of self pity, stop listening to anything that is against the Promise. If God said it, He will bring it to pass!! Everything that Abraham did and had was because of the Promise. "For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise."(Galatians 3:18). No matter what you are going through and no matter what is going through your mind, keep believing the Promise because God says yes to your dreams.

"Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing. "(1 Peter 3:9)

"Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing. "(1 Peter 3:9)

"A Blessing". We, the community of faith, should be aware of the truth that God has Blessed us that we may be a Blessing. So, Pastor Scott, are you saying that I have to give all my Blessings away? Absolutely not, enjoy your life and every Blessing that God has placed in your life. "Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not high-minded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;"(1 Timothy 6:17) Solomon said that there is nothing better than that a man enjoy the fruit or Blessing of his labour. "There is nothing better for a man, than that he should eat and drink, and that he should make his soul enjoy good in his labour. This also I saw, that it was from the hand of God."(Ecc. 2:24). Yes, God wants us to enjoy our lives to the fullest but while we are enjoying we must remember others. God's original intent was for us to be a Blessing to other people, even when we are hurt or mistreated by them. Jesus says to Bless those that curse us, vengeance is the Lord's. Now if I go visit my neighbor and he hits me with a hammer every time we visit, trust me, our visits will be limited. Lol! We are to overcome evil with good, do not return evil for evil, let God handle those that hurt you. "Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good."(Romans 12:20-21). If Christians practiced their Christianity, the world would be a better place. As a Preacher, I get to observe human behavior up close and personal. I see a lot of things that disturb me. One of the things that disturbs me the most is when people get so used to their Blessings that they forget where they came from and who they were before they were Blessed. Is the church so Blessed that it has forgotten its purpose? Do we "OVER-PROTECT" ourselves from the lesser people so we are sure not to get our hands dirty. According to the verse for today, we must be a Blessing to receive our Blessing. You want to be Blessed, be a Blessing.

VIDEO: GOD Will Make It Happen

VIDEO: How to Make Your Dreams Come True

“Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.”(Psalm 25:18)

“Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.”(Psalm 25:18)

“My Pain”. There are many of you who will read this that are suffering with pain. There are many different kinds of pain. Predominately when the word “pain” is mentioned we think of our physical pain. Other pain in our spirit and soul man is more of a toxic memory or some type of traumatic experience. Today let’s face the fact that some of us have bodies that are racked with pain while others have no clue what we are talking about. If you fit into the “No Pain” category, stop what you are doing, get on your knees and give thanks to God that you are pain free! To those of you that deal with pain on a daily basis, I feel you and I pray God’s Healing touch in your life. The verse today has the word “pain” in it but it also refers, in Hebrew, to our toiling because of the discomfort caused by pain. The word “affliction” is a reference to our depression, being pressed down or being overwhelmed by some struggle we are facing. The world, the church and our lives are full of pain, painful memories or toxicity of some kind. David is asking God to “Look” upon his pain, affliction and sins. “Look”means to see, to gaze or to have a vision of; David, very openly, says to God, “Please take a Look!!!” The word “Forgive” in this passage means to
“LIFT”, so I join David and say “Lord Lift this off Me”…… Do you need something lifted off of you today? The word “cry” is found often in the scriptures, we automatically associate cry with pain so cry out today for God to lift it off you. The word “forgive” in the Hebrew in this passage also means “ease”; Lord, please “EASE” my affliction, my pain and my sins today, today I cry unto you!!! “A Psalm of David. Unto thee will I cry, O LORD my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit.”(Psalm 28:1). Let’s just take the mask off, let down our front, wash off our church perfume and cry today. The Tears of the Spirit will wash away all of our yesterday’s,the Bloody Stripes of Jesus will heal our bodies and God Himself will lift our sins off of us today. Today is the day that God does the impossible.

VIDEO: Kari Boatner on Raise Them Up "Love Them"

”Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.”(Psalm 37:4)

”Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.”(Psalm 37:4)

“He shall give thee”. Do you dream of a better day? A day when all the plans God has for you come to pass!! Instead of sitting back waiting for it to happen, let’s work with God to bring our dreams to pass. The revelation in this passage begins with “TRUST”. “Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.”(Psalm 37:3) Trust means to lean on Him with all your might and fully believe that He has great plans for your life. The next step is to “DO GOOD”, which means to prove yourself in the Family of Faith. If you claim to know Jesus, people are watching, because if you are talking church- they want to know if you are walking it out!! So, Trust and Do Good! As we move through this passage of scripture the next thing we see is the command to “DELIGHT” thyself in the Lord. Delight means to be workable in His hands, let God have His way in your life. We are to Delight in the Lord, not in our dreams, we must remember that the only dreams that will bring about peace and prosperity are dreams from God. Some people get so caught up in their own dreams that they loose every thing to wind up with nothing but old age and an empty feeling of regret. Let God give you your dreams, Delight in Him and they will come. He will “GIVE” us the desires of our hearts. The word “Give”, in the Hebrew means with as much Latitude as possible. You know, Latitude/Longitude, the invisible lines that we use to navigate the earth. The Latitude goes around the earth and in this chapter God says we inherit the earth. You can’t get anymore than that!!! What are you believing for today?
The word “commit” comes in to play now, here is where some people fall off the wagon. Commitment brings Responsibilty and then comes Accountability!!
Three words that scare most people out of their dreams. It takes commitment to keep the discipline you need in your life to keep the dreams alive. If you dare to dream, delight in the Lord, then you will have your dreams. It is what it is!!!!

"He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds."(Psalm 147:3)

"He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds."(Psalm 147:3)

"Broken in Heart". Unfortunately broken hearts are common in our world today. They are the result of many diverse things that vary from country to country and family to family. Some children are broken hearted because they were brought into this world by people that don't really love them, they were just a by-product of a passionate moment and nothing more. Then on the other hand we have adults that are broken hearted because they have failed their children. Some people are broken hearted because someone has mistreated them or misunderstood them and said things that were not true because something upset them about that person. Maybe something as simple as a personality difference being blown out of proportion, maybe some form of jealousy or overlooking the truth to justify your hurt feelings so you can feel sorry for yourself. There are so many things that can break a person down to the point that they don't want to even get up and face another day. Are you there in the place of brokenness today? Has someone hurt you or have you hurt someone? The pain of being hurt and the guilt of hurting someone will eat you alive like a cancer. If you wrong someone that has been good to you, oops, not good!! "Whoso rewardeth evil for good, evil shall not depart from his house."(Proverbs 17:13) But if you constantly let people trample on you in the name of being humble, that's unbelievable and will lead to a miserable life. It's all about the FORGIVNESS FACTOR, letting it go!!!! Right now wherever you are, give JESUS a high-5 and say, I'm over it!!! "Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye."(Colossians 3:13). When we forgive, we bear the pain of the wrong done to us. There is a possibility that the person you forgive will never even know that you forgave them and in some cases are so insensitive, they don't know the extent of your pain. The forgiveness process is mostly for your healing, without FORGIVNESS in your life, you carry your hurt, which is now bitterness that will destroy you. How do I know if it has turned to bitterness?, you say. It's sensitive, always close to the surface of your life and when you see the person that hurt you, OMG! You go to the next isle so you don't have to pretend to like them.
Yes, we may have to bear the pain of the wrong done, but so did Jesus, He bore it for us and LET IT GO!!!! "He Healeth the broken in Heart"

"Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations."(Romans 14:1)

"Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations."(Romans 14:1)

"Him that is weak". The Church should be a safe house for those that are struggling with the issues of life. Paul says that we should receive the weak and help them get up on their feet. Receive them "but not to doubtful disputations", in other words don't judge them. We are not the Savior so we cannot be the Judge and Jury. We are the representatives of Christ on earth, epistles read of all men. "Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men :"( 2Corinthians 3:2). When people read us, what are they reading, the Life of Christ?? A New Testament Church is a group of believers that gather to worship God, Preach the Word and reach out to those in need. In some cases it has become a place that you have to meet certain unspoken criteria to be apart. You have to know the right people, dress a certain way and go with the powers that be to fit in to the club. Well the Church of Jesus Christ is not a club that excludes certain ones and accepts others. We should open our doors to all that would come, so they may have opportunity to know Jesus and be a part of a support group called "Church".
"We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves."(Romans 15:1). Sure helping others may push us out of our comfort zone from time to time, but I'm sure Jesus wasn't very comfortable on the CROSS!! Church is not about social status, being politically correct or being better than your neighbors. I know a lot of people like to go to church to feel good about themself as if they have done Jesus and the lowly ones a favor. I am sorry but there are no point systems or ladders to climb up at God's House. It is God's House after all and the world is welcome or they should be. It should be a place where a Preacher takes the Bible, shows a better way of life very clearly and confidently that involves Salvation by Grace and Service by His Spirit. There should be no division, chaos or criticism but peace, joy and love. Are you a part of a Church or a Religious Club? Just curious, Have a Blessed Day!!

"I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;"(1Timothy 2:1-3)

"A quiet and peaceable life" The life we all want but obviously are not hitting the mark most days. I would say that most of the people I meet and greet are stressed to the max, not quiet and peaceable. Bro Scott, what's wrong? Let's take a closer look at the chosen verses for today. Pray for "ALL" men, seriously, we don't even like most people much less pray for them. It's very hard to pray for someone while judging and criticizing them. Instead of giving people a leg up, we pile rocks on their head. I'm not an authority on the governments of the world nor an economist but I have figured out that we here in America are in trouble. All answers to all problems are found in a book called the Bible. The problem is that first thing in the mornings most Christians turn on the news rather than open the Word. We are to pray for those in leadership from the most insignificant elected office to the highest office in the land, The President of The United States. Well that's what the answer in the verses for today say. I know the Holy Grail News Network fills your head with all the possible negative junk it can find to completely depress you before starting your day. The Bible doesn't say you have to vote for them, vote for who you want to, but pray for those in office. The only way out of this mess we are in is God's way. Unfortunately most pulpits on Sunday mornings are more inspired by the latest failures of our Leadership rather than the Holy Spirit. I don't wonder at all why we are in the mess we are in, I'm shocked it's not worse."For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God;"(1Peter 4:17). We should be preaching messages of hope and confidence that will inspire our young adults to become leaders in our countries. Instead we tell them how messed up it is so they have no hope and become disturbed about their future. The Word of God is still very clear about what it takes to heal a nation. "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."(2 Chronicles 7:14)

"Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away."(James 4:14)

"Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away."(James 4:14)

"Life is a Vapour". I had another devotion ready to post but The Spirit has taken me in a different direction. Life is a Vapour, here one minute and gone the next instant. Someone once said, life is like money, spend it anyway you wish but you only get to spend it once. Well last night I had the loss of life in my friend and earth family world, two individuals as a matter a fact. The two men didn't know one another as far as I know and the only thing they had in common was that they both left this world and entered the next on the same evening. The thing about dying is, we don't know when that will take place. We are told in the Bible that death is certain unless Jesus comes before your time and you're a Christian, then you'll be caught away with Jesus in the air!! As they say "Life is fragile, handle with care". Unfortunately life comes at us so fast that we don't see a lot of stuff that's about to hit us hard and knock us off our feet. That's why we need Jesus to be our companion, to help protect us from the things we don't see coming nor have any knowledge of. Don't ever say what you want do, because you don't know until you walk in someone else's shoes, you just don't know. My two friends that passed away were worlds apart. One as was twenty years of age, one in his fifties, one took his life and one died in the hospital due to complications. The news came to me about both in a matter of a ten minute time span, which reminds us once again that we need to live every day to the fullest and know that when we go to bed at night that we have had a full day of "Life to the Fullest". Death will come, usually without notice so be ready for eternity at any time. You may say, Bro Scott, Why do people die so young? Life doesn't come with a time frame; you just have to make the most of life while you have it in your hands. There are two things today that we need to do; 1- Pray for those that have lost their love ones, you don't know when you will need their prayers. 2- Check your heart and make sure you are ready to face eternity; it's coming faster than you think!!
"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest."
(Matthew 11:28). Just come to Jesus, He will take care of the rest!!

"Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom."(Luke 12:32)

"Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom."(Luke 12:32)

"Fear Not". Jesus refers to us in this passage as the "little flock"; little is a word of love and compassion, not a reference of insignificance. God cares so much about us that he is pleased to give us the Kingdom. The word Kingdom in the Bible is a reference to the Spiritual Realm of God on earth. It has the idea of reigning in a domain of God here on earth. When God placed Adam in the Garden, His original intent was for Adam to have dominion on the earth. "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:"(1 Peter 2:9) In this passage Peter refers to us as a "Royal Priesthood", a sacred order. God has a Spiritual Kingdom here on earth that we are placed into by His Spirit; there is no other way to obtain this status.
Once we are in His Kingdom, if we live according to the Spiritual Laws of the Kingdom then His blessings will begin to flow our way. The beginning two words of the verse for today are; "Fear Not". As a Preacher of the Word I'm concerned about all the fear and doubt that I see in the eyes of God's people. It's the Fathers good pleasure to give us the Kingdom, The Authority, The Dominion and The Power to function on this earth as the Priesthood representing the King of the Kingdom. We have nothing to fear for the Father has made provision for us in every area of our life. He has our paths laid out for us, all things worked out for our good and has things for us that eyes have not seen nor has ears heard. We must receive the Power of Kingdom Authority from Him by faith and not fear anything or anyone on this planet. It is His pleasure to give us the Kingdom. "Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant."(Psalm 35:27) Our Heavenly Father is pleased when we prosper and we only prosper when we understand the Kingdom of God. Prosperity from God's point of view is much greater than just having money. If all you have is money and you think you’re prosperous, you are sadly mistaken.

"Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven."(Matthew 18:19)

"Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven."(Matthew 18:19)

"Agree". Father, we agree with you right now in the Name of Jesus Christ Your Son!!!! We agree that you are the God of the Universe and are very much in control of our lives. We agree that you have washed us in the Blood of Jesus, You indwell us with your Spirit and are directing our paths as to your purpose!!' We have received the Atonement, AT-ONE, we are one with You, Our Father!!! We desire to think like you do, talk like you do and be holy as you are. We know and agree that you have plans for us that you planned before the foundation of the world. "Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
"(2 Timothy 2:9). We agree that we don't have to work it out but walk it out by faith because the path of the righteous is plain. “But the way of the righteous is made plain.”(Proverbs 15:19). We are righteous, our house shall stand, we will not be ashamed, we will not be famished nor be removed from our Blessings. We touch the mountains of hindrance and the powers of darkness; they are shut down and cast into the sea. We have the victory because God never loses a war and He will not let us lose. We pray for victory in every area of our lives, right now, this instant. The heavens are open above us and God is pouring out His abundant blessings upon each of us as we are praying. We believe that we RECIEVE!! "Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place."(2Corinthians 2:14) We always win.

VIDEO: Blessed & Highly Favored

"To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;" Proverbs 1:2

"To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;" Proverbs 1:2

"know wisdom". Wisdom is the application of the knowledge (details) that you got from getting understanding (concept). "Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding."(Proverbs 4:7)
So many people want wisdom because of the benefits of having it in your life. But without understanding and knowledge, you'll never obtain wisdom because they work hand in hand. You must get understanding and knowledge, then apply it to your life - Now that's wisdom!!! All you really have to do is ask.
"If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him."(James 1:5)
The verses in this devotion are just the tip of the iceberg concerning wisdom.
"Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her."(Proverbs 4:8) God's Wisdom is the pathway to blessing!! "Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee."(Proverbs4:6). Promotion, Honor and Preservation come with wisdom!!! You can't get this stuff at 1-800-mo-better, it only comes from God Himself!!! "Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold. For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it."(Proverbs 8:10-11)
What can I say, we need this stuff and it comes from the Bible. A Bible is a book that God wrote that you can get at the local dollar store for 10 bucks or you just might get some Church to give you one for free!!! Read it and be WISE!!! Need I say more, Do smart and get wisdom. God Bless your wisdom journey.
