"Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad."(Proverbs 12:25)

"Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad."(Proverbs 12:25)

"A Good Word". This verse says that "heaviness" (anxiety-sorrow-fear) will make your heart "stoop" which in the Hebrew means to depress. Anxiety caused by your circumstances or an environment that you feel like you are trapped will bring you down. On the outside you may look good but on the inside you are pressed down emotionally. Some of you that are reading this are broken in your spirit by some type of heaviness, a huge weight that never leaves you night and day. You've fought it, you've hid it, you've been to the Doctor, which may have helped for a season but you need this mountain to get off your back. It could be an event or relationship gone bad, from 20 years ago, but still fresh simply because you can't or won't let it go. So it has traveled from hurt to unforgiveness then onto bitterness. Your bitterness is like a pet that you carry around with you to remind you of how bad you've been treated. You wouldn't take anything for your pet that has become part of who you are, you wouldn't know how to act if you "LET IT GO"!!! The verse that we have cited says that what you need is a "good word" because that is God's ordained method of healing for heaviness. But when you hear a word of hope, you feel so sorry for yourself, because you love to feed your "feel sorry for yourself" addiction!! If all you ever hear is a negative, hopeless or condemning word then that's what you will become because what you listen to takes lodging in your mind. Jesus said be careful "what you hear" because the words that you are exposed to will have an effect on you. If they are positive words based on God's Word, then your Faith will be built with these words. If they are condescending words that press you down in your mind then, the more in hear, the farther down you will go. "And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given."(Mark 4:24) Have you ever considered changing your intake of information?? Change your friends, your church, your job, etc... Just get away from the people that feed your pet pain, so that they are not constantly soothing and feeding the "Pain of the Past.” It will die if you stop feeding it. Let it die so that YOU CAN LIVE.
