For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. Proverbs 2:6

For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. Proverbs 2:6

Three very powerful words found throughout Proverbs, life changing words I might add!!! Understanding----Knowledge-----Wisdom... Today I would like to discuss understanding, then knowledge, then wisdom, the next two days.
Understanding = Concept, the big picture, how something functions or the main purpose. If you understand the nature of God, the Bible details will be easy for you. God's purpose and character never change so If you have a clear understanding of how God did things in the garden of Eden then you understand what God will always do. Solomon said that what God has done He will do and what He's going to do, He has already done. Proverbs calls this understanding. It's the concept of the spiritual laws of the Bible. It's the foundation upon which true knowledge is built, knowledge that is absolute truth. It is utterly impossible to understand the Bible without a full grasp of God's intent for the human race. As I said earlier, that is found in Genesis-chapters 1-3. I suggest you read Proverbs several times to realize the value of understanding (concept). "The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints," (Ephesians 1:18) In order to know, you must have an understanding of God's intent or purpose. God's intent never changes because He never changes, so what He has always done He will always do, as to purpose. "For I am the LORD, I change not," (Malachi 3:6)
His nature never changes, I know you're thinking, God looks different to me today than He did thirty years ago. Guess what, He's the same, you've matured and see more of Him now. He's able to reveal more of Himself to you now because you're mature enough to grasp it. Jesus revealed Himself to the Apostles as they could process it. If you get on a river boat at St Louis and float south down the Mississippi River, it will continue to get bigger to you but it's the same river!! "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever." (Hebrews 13:8). Understand Who He is and then you will know what He's doing!
