"Treasure" What do you value? What really matters to you at the end of each day? The word "treasure" in the Greek means deposit, wealth or value. We all have a set of values that govern our lives. Your lifestyle is based on your value system so what you treasure dictates your lifestyle. Noah valued the voice of God and
the
safety of his family so he built an Ark. In the Kingdom of God,
everything is contingent on something else. For example, your harvest is
based on the amount, location and type seed you sow. What you value,
whatever it is, that will set the true standard of your life. Some
people buy a camper because their neighbor has one, but if you don't
like to camp, it's going to be a lot of work for you to not enjoy. Life
would be so much better for you if you would have your own set of
values, rather than your neighbor's. Learn to be yourself, but I must
warn you, your neighbor would probably prefer you be controlled by his
or her values because some of people's friends wouldn't be their friends
if they didn't control them. You can be influenced by others to the
point that you don't have a life of your own because you live your life
by someone else's values. In the family of God, we are one but we are
many!! "For the body is not one member, but many."(1 Corinthians 12:14)
Each member of the body of Christ has a different function. In
order to function in your place, you have to value THAT place or you
won't respect it so it's not in your heart. If you treasure something,
it's in your heart and if it's in your heart, you will fight for it to
the death. For us to be happy we must have our own set of values based
on what we have allowed God to place in our hearts. Please open your
heart today and let God fill it with treasure.
